Oh, and I do still have all my fingers after my experiment on the weekend.
It was a shitty old CIL (Canadian made) with a US made barrel. Not the highest quality, so I expected a mess.
It was a gunsmith buddy of mine and myself that did it. Tied it to a target rack, ran a string from the trigger to behind a dirt wall around the range, put a 20g in the barrel, and a 12g in the chamber. Ran behind the dirt wall, pulled the string, boom.
Ran to check out the damage - THERE WAS NONE!!! The damn thing survived. It shot the 20g out the barrel with no ill effects.
So I did it again. SAME THING!!!
Finally we filled the end of the barrel with dirt and set it up - blew the whole side out of the barrel. Not exactly what I wanted, but it had to die somehow.
